About the exhibition

Into the Blue showcases artworks inspired by the Great Barrier Reef and Australia’s unique marine life, celebrating the beauty, diversity, and wonder of the ocean.

Featuring Jan Malkin, mixed-media artist; Lawrence Scheele, marine biologist and underwater photographer; Oliver Scheele, drone photographer; and Kaspa Blewett, underwater photographer and mosaic artist.

This is an exhibition not to be missed, presenting stunning, never before seen works of art inspired by the underwater world.

Join snorkeldownunder for a powerful and inspiring film and book event celebrating the inshore Great Barrier Reef. Featuring a 26-minute short film and the launch of the first book dedicated specifically to these often-overlooked reef systems, the evening shares stories of marine life, coastal communities, and the importance of reef conservation.

Through stunning visuals and compelling storytelling, the project highlights the ecological value of inshore reefs and their connection to mid-shelf systems. This event invites the community to deepen their understanding, reconnect with the marine environment, and be inspired to support practical exploration, climate awareness, and reef protection initiatives.

Hidden Treasure: Magnetic Island

Join Dr. Leon Zann on an incredible journey exploring the hidden underwater world of Yunbenun (Magnetic Island). A vibrant marine ecosystem teeming with life beneath the surface. Through stunning cinematography and original music this short film explores the island's diverse marine species and habitats. Highlighting the ecological significance of the island's waters to protect and preserve its fragile reefs.
